Thanks to Andy Main and Shasta.com for all your hard work in helping us to attach the articles and clippings.
I have prosecuted numerous dangerous felons throughout my career. It is impossible to attach all the relevant newspaper articles, and am therefore, attaching a small sampling.
While the Assistant District Attorney I, prosecuted Heather Carpenter's murderer: State of California vs. Patrick Larmour.

Prior to becoming the Assistant District Attorney I was the Prosecutor in the People of California vs. Novis Lackey. I did the preliminary hearing in this matter. Novis Lackey was a multiple drunk driver offender who eventually killed a Shasta Head Start Teacher while driving intoxicated. After my promotion Stew Jankowitz continued the prosecution, and Novis Lackey was convicted of 2nd degree murder. Below is the L.A. Times interview.

While a prosecutor in Bakersfield, I tried Michael Todd and Robert Santos for their roles in the murder of Jason Corbin. Due to the horrific nature of the crime this case was reported throughout the state.

In the State of California vs. Richard McWhorter, a Bakersfield jury found McWhorter guilty of murdering a mother and her child and sentenced him to death. The case is awaiting oral argument at the California Supreme Court.

My first homicide case was in 1995. In the matter State of California vs. Encarnacion Barrientos and Justo Guzman, Barrientos and Guzman gang members, killed Ramiro Espinoza because he interferred in gang recruitment.

My First homicide case after being assigned to the Special Prosecution Unit was State of California vs. Furness and Williams. The baby died when the couple taped the baby's mouth shut because she was crying.

In the matter State of California vs. Perfecto Cervantes, Cervantes was found guilty of killing a 6 month old baby due to shaken impact.

In 1998 Sheriff Deputy Tom Morgan was shot in the neck by by Jason Carl Samuel. The jury convicted Samuel of attempted murder. (State of California vs Jason Carl Samuel).

In the matter State of California vs. Nick Graham, a popular Bakersfield High School Coach was convicted of stealing over $50,000 from the Booster Club. This white collar crime prosecution was made difficult by the voluminous records and evidence.

My first job as a prosecutor was in Tulare County (Visalia area). I had to include this newspaper clipping because the photo makes me laugh.
