QUALIFICATIONS:

Shasta County Assistant District Attorney since 2003. Supervision experience of upper management including the Investigative Bureau Chief, Chief Fiscal Officer, all Senior Deputies and the Serious Offender Unit.

Kern County Deputy District Attorney assigned to the Special Prosecutions Unit. Responsible for vertical prosecution of homicide and adult and juvenile sex crimes as well as other high profile and complex criminal cases.

The prosecution of cases involving voluminous records including medical records.

During my fifteen year tenure as a prosecutor for Tulare, Kern and Shasta Counties, I have tried more than 150 cases including narcotics, fraud, robbery, burglary, arson, rape, molest and murder.

Civil litigation experience in the areas of medical malpractice defense and real property law with exposure to the federal courts.

Successfully appealed adverse trial court rulings at the California Fifth District Court of Appeals.

Adjunct Professor at California State University Bakersfield, Criminal Justice Department. Taught the “Gangs in America” course.

Professor of Law at California Pacific School of Law between 1997 and 2000. Taught Trial Advocacy.
